I don't know how things are in your house but when I go on vacations with my parents I have been known to accidentally trip or drop something in the middle of night to wake them so I can go back to sleep because their snoring is so loud. Is that mean? Yea, probably. But I need sleep too!
These nasal dilators open up your nasal passageways and allow more air flow so your sinuses are not clogged causing the snoring sound. They do take some getting used to so it's recommended you put them in 20-30 minutes before you go to bed so you are used to them and can easily go to sleep. After 20-30 minutes you have grown accustom to them and forget they are even there.
